Flight operations dispatch courses

In addition to training courses for pilots or helicopter pilots, the Higher School of Civil Aviation also offers flight operations training courses.

What does the activity of a flight operations dispatcher entail?

One of the most important responsibilities of a flight operations dispatcher is to ensure the safety of the flight. They work with several departments of an airline in the process of managing the flight, so the dispatcher course must cover several disciplines. As with an air traffic controller, the dispatcher must monitor several aircraft simultaneously.

  • Cancellation or delay of flights, depending on the situation
  • Flight monitoring and alerting the captain when there are changes in weather, runway closure or airport delays
  • Analysis of emergencies and notification of pilots about available options
  • Calculation of aircraft performance, weight, centering, limitations, airspeed, altitudes, distances and routes for each flight
  • Developing flight plans, taking into account issues such as weather, fuel, wind, maintenance issues and many other factors
